The annual NAB SHOW opens SATURDAY (4/11) in LAS VEGAS, with an expanded show floor of over one million net square feet of exhibit space and 244 companies exhibiting for the first time. Engineering programs will fill the weekend slate, with the exhibit halls and other programs opening MONDAY and running through THURSDAY.

CBS RADIO Alternative KROQ/LOS ANGELES morning team KEVIN AND BEAN will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame and syndicated talker and actress MARILU HENNER will give an address at TUESDAY’s Radio Luncheon, which will also include the announcement of winners of the NAB Crystal Radio Awards and the bestowing of the Crystal Heritage Award to LENAWEE BROADCASTING CO. AC WLEN/ADRIAN, MI.

For the first time, the streaming/podcasting NEW MEDIA EXPO (NMX) will be held in conjunction with the NAB SHOW on site at the LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER’s North Hall and the adjacent WESTGATE HOTEL (formerly the LAS VEGAS HILTON and LVH), and the SPROCKIT program showcasing 30 startup companies will be back with a pavilion on the exhibit floor.  Also at the WESTGATE, RAIN SUMMIT LAS VEGAS will precede the NAB SHOW as it does every year with a full day of panels and presentations about streaming and podcasting issues.

NAB EVP/Conventions and Business Operations CHRIS BROWN said, “Hitting the one-million mark on exhibit floor space is a testament to NAB Show’s continued relevance in an age of rapid advances in technology and change for media and entertainment. Our growth is reflective of NAB Show’s ability to adapt and deliver fresh perspectives on the industry’s most innovative companies and cutting-edge technologies.”

ALL ACCESS’ PERRY MICHAEL SIMON will once again be on hand for coverage of the event.  Reports begin MONDAY in NET NEWS.
